Who is USIMP?
University-Industry Cooperation Centers Platform of Turkey (USIMP) is a “civil initiative” motivated by social responsibility, aiming to create awareness of university-industry cooperation and technology transfer among all stakeholders as well as contributing to related activities at different levels.
Currently USIMP has 75 institutional members and gathers representatives of “University, Business World and Non-governmental organizations” under its roof.
USIMP’s mission is to develop recommendations for national strategies for the effective and efficient implementation of university-industry cooperation in Turkey. USIMP tries to create national synergy through national congresses, seminars, workshops and training events, national and international projects.
USIMP, embracing this general purpose, acts with social responsibility approach. As a “civil initiative” that does not have any sanction power, it tries to create awareness at universities as well as related establishments of the industry and public and to contribute to their operations to the extent possible.
Technology Transfer Offices (TTO)
Technology Transfer Offices are units within the organisational structure of Universities and are dedicated to identifying research which has potential commercial interest and creating strategies for how to exploit it.
The process to commercially exploit research varies widely. It can involve licensing agreements or setting up joint ventures and partnerships to share both the risks and rewards of bringing new technologies to market.
USIMP National Patent Fair -2017
USIMP National Patent Fair (www.usimppatentfuarı.org.tr) is being annually organised since 2015. It is a 2-day mega conference and technology marketplace organised by University-Industry Cooperation Centers Platform of Turkey (USIMP).
High-quality academic patents presented by participating TTO will be exhibited. The event will also provide a platform for participating TTO’s to create awareness about their activities. In addition industrial Research Centres will present their research activities. There will also be b2b events aiming to bring together academia and industry through the facilitation of TTOs.
The Event aims to:
exhibit selected academic patents of high calibre originating from Turkish Universities,
increase the awareness of industry for high-quality academic patents and emphasize the value of university-industry collaborations through panel discussions and keynote presentations,
attract the attention of industry to academic patents and know-how originating from Turkish Universities,
bring together providers (University patents) and technology seekers (companies) to create new collaborations and foster technology transfer via B2B bilateral meeting sessions.
provide an opportunity for Turkish Technology Transfer Offices to promote their patents and to try and create new partnerships for commercialization of the technologies.
The Event will target participants from:

Entrepreneurs, Investors, Technology Transfer Office Managers and Experts
R&D Managers and Experts, University Managers, Researchers and Students,
Technopark Managers and Experts, Incubation Center Managers and Experts,
Patent Experts and Attorneys
Participation will be free of charge for all visitors.
